Forsan was a Belgian rock band from Liège, founded by brothers André and Stéphane (born 1954, Deustchland - died November 2007 in Nyons) in 1973.
The band's sound was a combination of classical, jazz, blues, psychedelia and traditional French chanson. The band first reached national prominence when they were members of the Belgian-based European folk music collective Lapponia. The band achieved commercial success with their 1984 release, Rock and Roll. Their biggest hit was "Nanci" ("Nanny" in English), sung by Rudy Despiau. The song was covered in 1985 by Dutch singer René Froger, releasing his cover under the title "Mama".
The band disbanded in 1985 after the death of their guitarist, Joël Engelbert (born 1944). The band has reunited on several occasions, playing in a number of French festivals (Les Nuits de Fourvière, La Marche des Fièvres, Ça veut dire...) and releasing a studio album in 2008.
